This on-demand professional training program on Bullying Among Children and Adolescents: An Examination of Strategies and Implications is presented by Jennifer Beebe, PhD.

This program examines bullying among children and adolescents. The definition, prevalence, and impact of victimization on children and adolescents will be discussed during this program. An examination of approaches to prevention and intervention is discussed with an emphasis on individuals, families, schools, and communities.

    This training is intended for counselors and mental health professionals who work with children and adolescents and want to deepen their understanding of bullying dynamics and its impact. The program covers prevention strategies, effective interventions, and ways to support victims and their families, making it suitable for those committed to fostering safer environments for youth affected by bullying.

    This training is appropriate for a range of experience levels among licensed and pre-licensed mental health professionals.

    • Beginner: Participants new to the topic or with limited experience working with bullying among children and adolescents, seeking foundational knowledge of definitions, prevalence, and basic intervention strategies.

    • Intermediate: Participants with some experience addressing bullying in clinical or school settings, looking to deepen their understanding of prevention and intervention strategies across individual, family, school, and community contexts.
  • Practice Setting

    Practice occurs in child- and youth-serving environments that provide assessment, counseling, prevention, and crisis response around bullying, delivered through both in-person and telehealth care. Providers collaborate with caregivers and multi-system partners to apply individual, family, and community-level interventions within trauma-informed, developmentally and culturally responsive care.

Jennifer E. Beebe, PhD Professor, Niagara University

Jennifer E. Beebe is an Associate Professor at Niagara University. In addition to being a Counselor Educator, she is a National Certified Counselor as well as a Certified K-12 Professional School Counselor in New York and Hawaii. Jenifer has worked in multiple settings such as schools, agencies, clinics, and a college counseling center. As a result, she has provided individual and group counseling to individuals across the lifespan. Her line of research has been focused on bullying, cyber bullying, and counselor development and supervision. Jennifer’s efforts also include creating prevention and education programs that address sexual assault on college campuses. Most recently, Jennifer has received a $300,000 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) to strengthen its ongoing efforts to educate about and respond to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking on campus. She is the co-organizer of Take Back the Night, the red Flag Campaign, and has created a curriculum to address gender-based violence in New Student Orientation at Niagara University. She also works with local schools and communities to increase awareness, and education on the roles and responsibilities of the Professional School Counselor. Dr. Beebe has presented at national, regional, and state conferences on bullying, cyber bullying, vicarious trauma, supervision and training, and grief and loss. She also serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Counselor Preparation and Supervision and The Professional Counselor.
